The enforcement of this law and jurisdiction fall under an entity known as The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). They have been in existence since 1965. Learn more about the EEOC
Basically, Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibits discrimination in the workplace. It was designed to remove barriers that may prohibit a qualified person from obtaining a job and working free of discrimination.
The ADA is a continually growing piece of legislation. Every few years, provisions are added to the law that make it more clear and concise. The aim is to remove any ambiguity that may be associated with the law.
