If you live in Brevard County, there is no doubt you’ve heard of Palm Bay. There is a good chance you’ve been there as well. Palm Bay has been inhabited by humans for many centuries. In its modern form, Palm Bay was incorporated in January of 1960. Overwhelmingly, the city was undeveloped land covered in flora and small bodies of water.
The area drew ancient settlers because of Turkey Creek and the area where it converged with the river. This area offered a water, bathing and a food source. Many fossils from antiquity have been found in this location.
Palm Bay had a slow expansion in the 20th century all the way until the 1990’s when development really began to pick up. Residents looking to settle in the area could buy land and housing for a more affordable price than other locations in the area. Palm Bay was poised to market itself as a bedroom community for suburbanites who would travel into Melbourne and to the Cape for work.
In the 2000’s the population really took off. One can still get a nice quarter or half acre property with a house and a pool but the prices are comparable to neighboring towns. Schools began to pop up more often and the city settled into its growth phase. As you can see by the graph below, it really grow.
Today, there is plenty of commerce and industry in Palm Bay. Although there is no real area designated as a “down town”, there are many commercial areas with a high volume of foot traffic.
130,000+ people call Palm Bay home and with all those people come the demands and needs of any sizable population. People there need doctors, attorneys, accountants, painters, landscapers, and builders.
We are proud to say that we have served the Palm Bay area for many years. Folks come to us with their disability cases, mediation cases as well as uncontested divorces. After all, our office is just a short drive away.
We look forward to many more years of serving the Palm Bay area and look forward to watching the town grow and grow. Many of our friends and colleagues call Palm Bay home and that is a fact of which we are proud.
